Professor in Educational Studies at University of Michigan, Director of the Michigan Research Program on Ready to Learn and other projects which emphasize on changing the odds for children in poverty. She is an acclaimed author of several books including “Changing the Odds for Children at Risk (Teachers College Press, 2009).
